Questions about the BenQ AK700ST 4000 Lumen 4K Short Throw Laser Golf Simulator Projector

Is the BenQ AK700ST good for a golf simulator?

Yes. The AK700ST is a 4K UHD (3840 by 2160) laser projector with 4,000 ANSI lumens, built for golf simulation. Auto Screen Fit and Quick Focus make setup fast, and it is the most affordable 4K BenQ golf projector we carry.

How far from the screen does the AK700ST need to be?

The throw ratio is 0.69 to 0.83 with 1.2x zoom, so it sits about 0.69 to 0.83 times the image width from the screen. A 10 ft wide image needs roughly 6.9 to 8.3 ft, and a 12 ft wide image needs roughly 8.3 to 10 ft.

Is 4,000 lumens bright enough?

For a room you can make fairly dark, yes. If your garage or room has windows or you play during the day, the 5,000 plus lumen LK936ST or LU935ST will hold up better.

Can I mount the AK700ST off center?

It is easiest to mount close to centered. It uses keystone correction of up to 30 degrees vertical, horizontal and rotation, plus Auto Screen Fit, rather than lens shift. If your projector must sit well off center, the LK936ST or LU935ST with lens shift is a better fit.

What screen shapes does the AK700ST support?

Its native image is 16:9, and it supports 16:9, 16:10, 4:3 and 1:1 screen settings so it can match a wide range of impact screens and enclosures.
